Earth Hour- 2012

When: Saturday, March 31st from 8-10pm on the mall.

Purpose: An international event, creating solidarity around the climate crisis; go without electricity for an hour to show your commitment to the environment.

How to participate: Turn off all your lights and unplug your electronics, then come out to the mall for some electricity-free fun.  We will also have the mall lights east of Cherry turned off during actual Earth Hour (from 8:30-9:30pm).

Food: We will have free food (organic fruits & veggies and pizza)

Performances: The Charles Darwin Experience comedy troupe, Noteriety singing group, Planet Djembe drumming, and Elemental Artistry fire dancing.

History: This is the 5th year Eco-Reps have hosted this event on campus.

Carbon Offsets: Since we must use electricity to make the pizza and for lighting, Papa Johns Pizza is purchasing carbon offsets to cover the electricity used for and during our celebration.
