Inspired by the need to provide students with a more personalized experience by increasing student contact with faculty outside the classroom, Residence Life and the Dean of Students Office established the Faculty Fellows Program in 1985.
Faculty selected to serve in this program represent a wide variety of academic disciplines and want to contribute to students having a high-quality experience in college.
Fellows are appointed to serve in residence halls, where they spend time with residents, offering information about academics, organizing learning opportunities, and lending a listening ear during office hours. The goal of this program is for faculty to establish relationships with students in the residence halls so that they can experience a more fulfilling and successful academic career at The University of Arizona.
