Tutors in Residence

In-Hall Tutoring

One of several services provided by the Residence Life Academic Success Program, the Tutor in Residence Program provides tutoring by experienced students who live in one of the residence halls.

These students have demonstrated success in their college studies by earning A’s or B’s in the subjects they tutor.

As returning students who have lived on campus for at least a year, these Tutors have expressed a desire to help residents who are in need of academic assistance. A guiding principle of this service is to identify tutors who can provide help to students enrolled in General Education courses, freshman composition, math, science and language classes.

Each Tutor determines the days and times when they are available along with the courses they are qualified to tutor. This information is then shared with each of the residents. To recieve tutoring, residents contact the Tutor and schedule a time and place to meet. Usually Tutors meet residents in study lounges or in a common meeting room in the building.

If you are interested in serving as a Tutor in Residence, please contact Greg Ziebell, Assistant Director for Academic Success at 621-6400 or E-mail: ziebell@life.arizona.edu
