Tutors in Residence

The Residence Life Academic Success Program collaborates with the new Student Learning Center to provide tutoring for students living in the residence halls. These “tutors in residence” are employed by the Student Learning Center and have demonstrated success in college and the desire to help others.
As returning students who have lived on campus for at least one year, these tutors are highly motivated to assist students with their studies. Students can get help with math, biology, chemistry, writing assignments, general education courses and languages.
The days and times tutors are available are posted in every residence hall along with the subjects each and times tutors are available are posted in every residence hall along with the subjects in which each person is qualified to tutor. To receive tutoring, residents contact a tutor, usually via email, and schedule a day, time and place to meet. In most cases tutors meet with residents in study lounges or in a common area of the residence hall.
