SafeZONE Workshop Schedule
General Education
General Education workshops are designed to introduce participants to the experiences of lesbian, gay, bi-affectionate, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) people.
Gender Identity Date and Location TBD
This workshop will introduce definitions, addresses gender expression and basic transgender identity theory, and strives to dispel myths and misunderstandings about the Transgender community.
LGBQ Date and Location TBD
This workshop will introduce definitions, addresses homophobia and heterosexism, and strives to dispel myths and misunderstandings about the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-affectionate and Questioning community.
Ally Development
Ally Development workshops are designed to address ways individuals can support LGBTQ people and create safe space. Topics include a more in-depth exploration of the impacts of homophobia and heterosexual privilege and what you can do to support someone who comes out to you. Participants who complete this workshop will be offered a SafeZONE placard.
