Conference Planning
The primary function of Conference Services is to provide quality service and accommodations for groups that come to the University of Arizona with an educational purpose. Residence Life Conference Services provides these services in our summer group residence hall facilities from May 19, 2013 through August 14, 2013. We offer short-term housing for any education-related group or guest.
In addition to providing housing accommodations for groups and guests, our office will also be happy to assist in the coordination of any or all of our available campus services to meet your group's specific needs. Any questions regarding these services and associated costs should be directed to conferences@life.arizona.edu.
Contracts
Conference Services contracts are generally initiated beginning in mid-February. All contracts will include minimum financial obligations. Accommodations are not guaranteed until a contract has been signed by an authorized group representative and the University.
Youth Group Supervision
Groups whose participants are of college and/or pre-college age must provide and pay associated costs for live-in, adult advisors. We require a ratio of at least one adult for every ten (10) participants. Youth groups should also plan to provide structured opportunities and free-time activities during times when participants are not directly involved in program activities. The younger the participants, the more structure needed during free time. Experience has shown that groups who adequately provide this structure, experience far fewer participant behavior problems and far fewer charges for damages to facilities. Groups hosting pre-college participants will be required to submit a detailed schedule of participant activities well in advance of the participants' arrival on campus. For assistance in this area, please feel free to contact us.
