More free time, less structure, no one reminding you to turn in assignments, roommates, laundry, making your own decisions—this is college!
Adjusting to college life can be hard, so use these 5 basics to jump start your successful transition to the UA:
- Be Assertive
Take the initiative to get what you need, be it directions, help, or information.
Look around and find out what’s available.
The UA has so much to offer: clubs, intramural sports, the arts, athletic events, speakers and more! Visit the Club Fair and the ASUA clubs website to get involved
Make being a UA student the center of your life.
Make new friends, work at the relationship with your roommate(s), and meet with your teachers.
- Participate in campus and community arts and cultural events.
- Attend hall events such as wing programs, Hall Council, and RHA.
- Take one of your professors to lunch on Residence Life. Learn more.
This is your opportunity to take charge of your college experience and make the transition work for you!
