Spring 2013

December 22-January 1	All University offices closed
January 4	[Spring 2013] License Agreements (housing contracts) due from all newly assigned spring housing residents
January 6	Residence halls open for spring semester at noon. New spring housing residents move in 12 noon to 3:30 pm. Returning fall semester residents return at their convenience.
January 7-8	New spring housing residents move in 8 am-3:30 pm. Returning fall semester residents return at their convenience.
January 9	Classes begin. Spring semester rent due (first payment due for those using the University’s payment plan).
January 21	Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday- no classes
February	[Fall 2013] New student hall assignments begin in late February and continue through August
February 28	Last day appeals will be accepted for Fall 2012 damage/move-out charges
Various	[Fall 2013] License Agreements (housing contracts) and Confirmation Rent Payments are due by the assignment confirmation deadline dates provided to students upon assignment. Failure to complete both requirements by your deadline date will result in cancellation of your housing.
March	[Summer] Summer 2013 summer school housing applications available in early March
Various	[Summer] Summer school housing License Agreement (housing contract) must be completed and received by Residence Life before you will be permitted to move into summer school housing.
March 9-17	Spring Break – no classes (residence halls remain open, but front desks are closed and no mail delivery)
April 1	[Fall 2013] Guaranteed housing deadline for Fall 2013 freshmen. New freshmen whose completed housing applications are received by this date are guaranteed assignment to campus housing for the 2013-2014 academic year.
May 1	[Fall 2013] Confirmation Rent Payment refund cancellation deadline for Fall 2013. The Confirmation Rent Payment is refundable if you cancel your housing application/assignment by this date or the assignment confirmation deadline provided to you upon assignment, whichever is later. Last day of classes
May 3-9	Final exams
May 10-11	Spring graduation activities
May 11	Residence halls close at 12 noon. Residents must remove all belongings and vacate by noon.

Summer 2013

Various	Summer school housing License Agreement (housing contract) must be completed and received by Residence Life before you will be permitted to move into summer school housing
May 12	Summer school residence halls open for Presession, move-in between 9am-4pm
May 13	Presession summer school move-in from 10am-4pm First day of Presession classes Presession rent due
June 1	Last day of Presession classes and final exams If you are not continuing with First Summer Session classes, you must remove all belongings and vacate by 6pm
June 2-3	New summer school residents move-in from 10am-4pm
June 3	First day of First Summer Session classes First Summer Session rent due
July	[FALL 2013] Room numbers, roommate contact information and assigned move-in times released to assigned students in mid-July
July 1	[FALL 2013] Last day to submit roommate and reassignment requests
July 3	Last day of First Summer Session classes and final exams If you are not continuing with Second Summer Session classes, you must remove all belongings and vacate by 6pm
July 4	Independence Day - no classes
July 7-8	New summer school residents move-in from 10am-4pm
July 8	First day of Second Summer Session classes Second Summer Session rent due
July 31	[SPRING 2013] Last day appeals will be accepted for spring semester damage/move-out charges
August 7	Last day of Second Summer Session classes and final exams All summer school residents must remove all belongings and vacate by 7pm

Fall 2013

August 1-16	All assigned students must complete online check-in before arriving on campus to move-in
August 7	Summer Housing ends and residents must remove all belongings and vacate by 7pm Residents moving into Colonia de la Paz 12-Month Housing will stay in their summer assignment for the night New RAs move-in Selected returning RAs assigned to Colonia de la Paz move-in
August 8	Summer RA agreement ends Selected Colonia de la Paz RA agreements begin Summer school residents will move from the summer hall into Colonia de la Paz Colonia de la Paz open to 12-Month Housing students, move-in times TBD
August 9	All returning RAs move-in
August 10	International Student Orientation (ISO) students can move into Colonia de la Paz
August 17	ISO students must move out of Colonia de la Paz on or before 9am (they will either move to their academic year assignment or off campus) ISO students will remain in Colonia de la Paz if they choose Early Arrival & Winter Break
August 18	Early Move-in Day for authorized groups ONLY (such as Residence Life student staff, Sorority Recruitment, etc.) at assigned move-in times An early arrival fee of up to $160 will be assessed to students in the authorized groups (this fee does not apply to Residence Life student groups assisting with opening activities
August 21	Early Move-in Day- $40 early move-in fee will be assessed if you choose to move-in this day (charged to your University account) Arrive to move-in at your assigned move-in time (8am-3:30pm) No advance reservation or payment is required
August 22-23	Regular Move-in Day- Arrive to move-in at your assigned move-in time (8am-3:30pm)
August 24	Regular Move-in Day- Arrive to move-in at your assigned move-in time (8am-3:30pm) If you will be arriving to move-in after this day, you must notify Residence Life of your arrival date to prevent cancelation of your housing
August 26	First day of classes Fall semester rent due and first payment due for those using the University's payment plan
September 2	Labor Day - no classes
October 19	[SUMMER] Last day appeals will be accepted for summer 2013 damage/move-out charges
November 11	Veterans Day - no classes
November 28-December 1	Thanksgiving Break - no classes (residence halls remain open, but front desks are closed and no mail delivery)
December	[SPRING 2014] New spring housing assignments sent out (beginning late December)
December 11	Last day of classes
December 13-19	Final Exams
December 20	12-Month Housing in Colonia de la Paz remains open during break
December 20-21	Fall graduation activities
December 20	Residence halls close at 5pm. If you are returning for the spring semester, you may leave your belongings in your room If you are leaving campus housing, you must remove all belongings
