Move-in & Move-out

Semester Opening

Hall opening is a very busy time of year for Residence Life Recycling. There are corral areas set up outside of each residence hall and La Aldea apartments where students can deposit their cardboard and Styrofoam. We are busy getting cardboard and Styrofoam collected from all the halls/apartments as people move in. A very simple way that you can help out is to flatten your cardboard before taking it to the corral area. Also, remove all packaging materials, especially the plastic film around many boxes. That is not recyclable at UA. Finally, review the Recycling Guidelines for Residence Life at the University of Arizona. Just because you could recycle something at home does not mean you can recycle it in the halls!

Semester Closing

At the end of every semester, the Residence Life Sustainability Program partners with Tucson community non-profit organizations to set up collection bins in residence halls and at La Aldea Graduate Housing. As you get ready to wrap up your semester, please think about donating items you may no longer need so they can have a second life with someone new. Dropping items into the bin in your hall will serve a much better cause than throwing them in the dumpster.
