What is the Waiting List?
When campus housing for the upcoming fall semester is full, we go to our Waiting List process.
Why should I complete a Waiting List housing application?
By completing a Waiting List application, you are letting us know that you are interested in on-campus housing for the 2012-13 academic year. In the UNLIKELY event that we receive additional cancellations, we will be able to notify you quickly of availability. Completing a Waiting List application does not obligate you to accept housing if it becomes available.
Is there a charge to submit in a Waiting List application?
No, there is no charge to complete a Waiting List application. You are charged the non-refundable $150 housing application fee only if we are able to offer you housing and you accept.
Is it possible that I will get on-campus housing if I am on the Waiting List?
Possible? Yes. Likely? No. When we go to the Waiting List, we are full and do not anticipate being able to provide campus housing to additional students. The only way we can accommodate anyone from the Waiting List is if we receive more cancellations than we already expect to receive.
Have students on the Waiting List ever gotten housing for the fall semester?
Yes. In some years, we have been able to accommodate some students from the Waiting List. However in other years, we have not been able to take anyone from the Waiting List. Generally we will not know until mid- to late summer if we will can offer housing to anyone on the Waiting List.
What should I do if I am on the Waiting List?
Because it is doubtful that fall semester housing will be available, we STRONGLY encourage you NOT to “wait and see.” Off-campus housing choices are more plentiful the earlier you begin looking, so we strongly encourage you to secure off-campus housing as early as possible.
