Full Time Community Director Position Description
The University of Arizona Residential Education Team is looking for innovative and self-motivated student affairs professionals. Dream, Explore and Discover through a Residential Life program, where the focus is on providing a stimulating environment for residents and staff within our inclusive communities at The University of Arizona.
Located in the multicultural city of Tucson, The University of Arizona is a public land-grant institution established in 1885. Enrollment is 37,000. The Department of Residence Life serves more than 6,000 students who reside in 22 residence halls. Innovative and self-motivated student development professionals are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Live-in position that is responsible for a co-ed hall of 250-450 residents
- Supervision of 12 to 16 Resident Assistants
- Select, train and evaluate staff
- Implement the Academic Success Program & the Caring and Inclusive Learning Community Program
- Serve as a judicial hearing officer
- Advise Hall Council
- Serve on a departmental committee
- Campus-wide duty rotation

Qualifications: Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling or related field is required. Experience working with culturally diverse populations and residence life or relevant background is required. Ability to participate as a positive team player, and skills necessary to respond to internal and external customer needs in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Starting date: July 1, 2008
Benefits: $28,000 salary for 12 months, $1,500 meal plan, $1,000 professional development, University parking $235, furnished apartment with internet access, US Mail P.O.
