Resident Assistant Position Description:

Resident Assistants (RAs) build community by putting on social, academic, health and diversity-focused programs to help residents get to know each other and to involve them in the hall community. RAs also play an important role in what goes on 'behind the scenes' in our residence halls, making sure the buildings are safe, secure and comfortable environments in which to live. They help residents during the opening and closing of the residence halls, as well as throughout the year should residents choose to move out early or switch rooms during the year. RAs are responsible for facilitating and constructing an inclusive culture in their building. They do this by mentoring residents through personal, relational, social, cultural, emotional, and academic concerns. Additionally, RAs create a dynamic atmosphere in the residence halls that supports the individual achievement of residents and promotes a socially, culturally, and educationally enriching experience for everyone.
