This summer Orientation RA position is a new position to the Office of Orientation and the New Student Orientation summer staff. Each year, the Office of Orientation hosts 11 sessions (between May – July) in which on campus housing is available for students attending orientation. This summer’s Orientation hall will be Arizona-Sonora. There are eight wings in Arizona-Sonora for which we will be hiring 7 RA’s and 1 Orientation Coordinator to live in with these students through all 11 sessions.
General Overview of the Summer Orientation RA position includes but is not limited too:
- Provide programming every Day One night of all 11 Orientation sessions.
- Guide residents through the check in process and the overview of Orientation housing guidelines.
- Go on rounds three times a night for every night that residents are in the hall.
- Enforce housing and Orientation policies and writing incident reports as needed regarding situations that occurred in the hall.
- Will receive Orientation information training.
- Room provided in Arizona-Sonora from the week of May 19th through July 11th, single room with individual bathroom.
- $1000 stipend (which includes $400 on meal card) covering all 11 sessions and Orientation training.
- Take Summer I and Summer II classes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA as a continuing UA student.
- Full time UA enrollment for both Spring 2008 and Fall 2008 as an undergraduate student or graduate student that has graduated from the UA within the last year.
- Has worked for the Office of Residence Life as a Resident Assistant for at least one year and is considered re-appointable by Residence Life.
