Our Competition
At The University of Arizona, Recycle Mania is a chance for all the halls and apartments to compete to see who can recycle the most materials per person.
In the 2008-2009 academic year we as a university recycled 1,025,688.00 pounds of material in just 10 weeks! In Residence Life we recycled 44,979 pounds of material. This was the first time the entire University community participated in Recycle Mania.
All of the residence halls organized programs during the 10week competition timeframe.In total we had 226 programs related to sustainability offered within the halsl
Prizes
The winning college or university will receive the Recycle Mania trophy. This trophy will be presented to the winner's school. The winning college or university also gets a half page advertisement in all the other schools' newspapers (compliments of the other universities) on their achievements!
Schools will announce recycling accomplishments to the media – everyone really wins in the end!
