Finding Your Adapter Address
An adapter address is a set of six pairs of hexadecimal numbers (each character of each pair is either a number between 0-9 or a letter between A-F) that uniquely identifies your computer. For example, an adapter address might look like 12:34:56:78:90:AB (some programs will display the address as 12-34-56-78-90-AB).
The adapter address should not begin with 44:45. Addresses that begin with 44:45 are typically modem addresses (also known as PPP adapters) and will not work.
The adapter address is not the same as your IP address. An IP address is a set of four numbers between 0-255. An example IP address looks like 123.111.222.234.
