Configuring Your Computer

There are three steps to this process, which must be done in this order:

  1. Configure your computer.
  2. Find your hardware address (also known as the computer's "physical address" or "adapter address").
  3. Register your hardware address on the ResComp network.

To configure your computer for use on the ResComp network, you must:

  1. Make sure your ethernet card is properly installed.
  2. Make sure TCP/IP is installed.
  3. Make sure TCP/IP is set to use DHCP.
