How do I know if my computer is registered?
To check to see if your computer is registered, just go to the online registration form and log in. You will see a list of any adapters that are registered to you. Check to see if your computer's hardware address is listed. If there are no adapters listed or if your computer's adapter address is not listed, then that address is not registered to you.
When and where can I register with ResComp?
- You can register at any time after you receive your Student Link login (usually your UA NetID and/or student ID-PIN number combination)
- You can register from any computer that is already connected to the internet (e.g. from home before you arrive, computers in the library, any of the campus labs that have internet access, etc.)
- The online registration page is located at http://www.rescomp.arizona.edu/guides/register.asp.
What do I do if I replace my computer or get a new ethernet adapter?
You need to update your registration. Go to the online registration form, begin the registration process, and after you've logged in, you should see a list of adapters currently registered to you. You can update your old registration by using the "Update" option listed. This will remove the old registration and replace it with the new one. or You can also use the "Remove" option next to the old registration and use the "Add New Address" option to enter in your new address.
If you get a new computer, but keep the same ethernet adapter, then you will not need to do anything to continue using your network connection.
What do I do if I want to register additional computers so I can use more than one computer at the same time on the network?
You can now register more than one computer for use on the network. Just go to the online registration form, begin the registration process, and after you've logged in, you should see all the adapters currently registered to you. If you need to add another, just click on "Add New Address."
It is very important to remember to keep this information up to date. If you sell or get rid of a computer, remember to remove its registration by using the "Remove" option that appears next to any listed registered computers.
