Blue Chip Leadership Community

Blue Chip Leadership Program

Join an exciting living-learning community at Pima Hall. The Pima Blue Chip Leadership Community is a living-learning community located in Pima Residence Hall. This leadership community promotes academic success, encourages leadership development, and provides a variety of out-of-class learning experiences that challenge and engage Blue Chip Phase I and Phase II-IV students. These experiences include the opportunity to hold leadership positions on the hall programming and service team, attend leadership workshops hosted in residence, take leadership classes in Pima, and participate in monthly programs. Blue Chip students who live in the Leadership Wing are expected to participate in wing sponsored activities.

The UA recognizes that leadership development is a critical component of total learning. In today’s world, prospective employers expect leadership as part of the college experience. Live with others who are motivated and excited about leadership and service. Explore your interests, passions and what makes you a leader.

About Blue Chip

The Arizona Blue Chip Program is part of the Center for Leadership and Social Change and is a 4 year co-curricular leadership education experience that integrates skill development, self-reflection, community service, social justice education, teambuilding, career development, and event planning to help students learn, practice, and engage in leadership for social change. The mission of Blue Chip is to build leaders who make a difference. Blue Chip is open to all students including first-year, continuing, and transfer students.

The Program is divided into four phases-each phase covers one academic year. During each phase, students will also be adding to their leadership portfolios, Leadership & Involvement Transcripts, doing community service, and working individually with a mentor.

Blue Chip students who live in Pima Hall have the opportunity to participate in the following activities throughout the year:

“The Blue Chip community is so supportive. The residents are like family—they’re like my brothers and sisters. It’s comforting having them, especially during your first year.”

“Freshman who have been invited to be a part of the Blue Chip Program should seriously consider living in the community at Pima Lodge. You will have the opportunity to explore leadership capabilities and share your first year experiences with other Phase I students at the UA. Living at this community has relieved the anxiety about finding friends on campus who share my same interests. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!”
