Cochise Residential College for Undecided Majors

Cochise Residential College is a learning-centered community designed to bring together students with undecided majors. By intentionally engaging students in the exploration of self, majors and the world of work, we hope to help them reach their goals.
Cochise Residential College is a unique collaboration between University College, University Learning Center, Dean of Students Office, Faculty Fellows, Career Services, and Residence Life ,creating a seamless link between in-class learning and out-of-class experiences in a residential setting.
Dennis T. Ray, Ph. D, a UA distinguished professor of Plant Sciences and Arid Lands Studies is the Faculty Fellow of Cochise Hall. He says, “Because of its smaller size and design, Cochise Residential College has a family feel about it, and residents really get to know each other rather well.” He also talks about the uniqueness that Cochise has to offer. “Cochise Residential College offers unique opportunities for students who have yet to decide upon a major, including being the only residence hall with an assigned advisor from University School, in-residence tutors, programs run by the University Learning Center and Career Services, and presentations about the different colleges and majors.”

It's nice because I am practically in their ‘living room’ which makes it convenient for them to have answers to their questions on hand. Being at Cochise also helps with the collaborative relationships they build with me.”

“Because of Cochise’s family atmosphere, I wouldn’t have made as many friends had I not lived in this residence hall. When I get nervous about not having a major or not knowing what my career is to be, I remember that no one else does here either. Getting an appointment with my advisor has been easy too.
My hall director and RAs are wonderful too. They plan so many activities, as does our Faculty Fellow. It will be one of the best experiences you will ever have.”
