A Living-Learning Experience

The Women in Science, Engineering, Math and Technology (WISE) wing is designed for women who desire a residence hall experience that promotes scholarship in their academic area of interest. Rooms are reserved in Gila Hall for women who seek a living-learning experience during their undergraduate years at the University of Arizona. This is a great opportunity to be surrounded by students who share an interest in the sciences and experience a support system that can foster success in a challenging field of study for women.

Students who are accepted to this program receive support and guidance from mentors and undergraduates who have an interest in women seeking a science-related education. In addition to the mentoring, participants can take advantage of the following programs and services:

“I have met some amazing girls who will be life long friends. I think girls who want to be among other girls with the same interests should consider the WISE wing—you already have something in common. We all are motivated and are primary focus is on our studies. This is one way to meet more people at the UA. It is important to bond with some of the people you live with. It is your home and the people become your family.”
