Dining and Meal Plans

Meal PlansSince meals and dining are not included in your housing, there are various options. A small refrigerator for snacks or beverages is provided in each student room and you may bring a microwave. Some students occasionally enjoy preparing food in their hall’s community kitchen (halls with stoves vary). Pots and pans may be checked out at the front desk. You may also see students barbecuing on the courtyard grills outside their halls.

Food selections include: pizza, wraps, soups, salads, burgers, omelets, fresh fruits and much more. Two UA markets also include a variety of organic food items. Healthy food and vegetarian options are available all over campus. Students may grab fast food or sit down to a hot buffet style meal. Choose a meal plan which best suits your needs and price range. Your meal plan will determine the amount of money placed on your CatCard account to purchase meals. For complete dining and meal plan information check out “where to eat on campus” or call the Meal Plan Office at (520) 621-7043. They are located on the main level of the Student Union Memorial Center.

Parking & Transportation

ParkingParking permits are required to park in any UA lot or garage. Parking permits are sold through the office of UA Parking & Transportation only. It is common to have a waiting list for parking permits each year. Apply early or you may not get a parking permit. Check out the campus map of all parking lots and garages.

UA Parking and TransportationResidence Life does not control any parking lots or parking assignments. Your parking permit is not based on your hall assignment. Many freshmen do not bring a car to campus and prefer to ride their bicycles around campus. There is also a free CatTran shuttle available to most campus buildings and you can ride the Sun Tran city bus to get around town. Contact Parking and Transportation for more information and permits or call (520) 626-7275. The Parking & Transportation office is located at 1117 E. Fifth Street.

ASUA Safe Ride. Located in the Student Union Memorial Center, Safe Ride provides a free service for students who are traveling on campus at night. They also provide workshops on campus safety. For more information review the website or call (520) 621-7233.

For information on additional campus student services, please review the main University of Arizona website.
